- Have you ever considered that you could be lead toxic? (It’s in lipstick, household products, toys, freeway dust, old pipes, old paint)
- What about mercury? (Did you eat tuna or other fish this week? Do you have silver/amalgam fillings?)
- Are you experiencing lack of energy, poor circulation, weight-gain, high blood pressure or unexplained aches and pains?
The Role of Heavy Metals
Current research studies are finding that many of today’s diseases and health problems may have links to an over-burden of toxins in the body from exposure to heavy metals. Growing evidence suggests that heavy metals may play a role in such things as heart disease, stroke, chronic fatigue, high blood pressure and cancer.
Even in Clearwater, we live in a polluted environment where mercury is probably one of the best-known and one of the worst environmental poisons. It can come from many places such as leaking amalgam/silver fillings routine vaccinations, or fish consumption.
Lead too, is prevalent in the environment with a surprising number of products containing un-safe levels, from children’s toys and industrial emissions to lipsticks.
Of course, all of this just adds to the underlying problem – toxic contamination. So, if you are feeling less than 100%, this is an easily overlooked factor and you should discuss with a physician at our Clearwater clinic, who is knowledgeable about environmental toxins.
How Can Chelation Therapy Help?
Chelation Therapy (pronounced ke-lation) has been used since it was introduced in the 1940s, specifically to treat lead poisoning.
Chelation is an intravenous therapy with an amino acid called EDTA (Ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid). This substance binds toxic metals and removes them from the body so that they can not continue their disease causing effects. EDTA is the most powerful antioxidant known. It decreases blood clotting and removes from the body lead, mercury, and other toxic metals. In the process of getting chelation therapy, circulation is improved and oxygen levels in the tissues increases. This can lead to improvements in blood pressure, circulation, wound healing, and exercise tolerance.
What Happens During Chelation Therapy?
At LifeWorks Wellness Center’s Clearwater clinic, patients are given a full medical evaluation and screening blood tests, after which the value of receiving chelation therapy is considered. Chelation involves getting the EDTA by intravenous infusion along with vitamin C, B complex, Magnesium and specific homeopathics to improve health. The typical regimen for patients receiving chelation is treatments 2-3 times per week for a total of 20 and then a re-evaluation to see if more are needed. Each treatment takes between 30-40 minutes to deliver.
EDTA is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of acute heavy metal poisoning, and is considered safe and routinely used for that purpose.
Because heavy metals are removed from the body and circulation is improved many Clearwater patients report that they have greatly increased energy, improved clarity of thinking, and better exercise tolerance. Blood pressure also often improves as does the general circulation.
Chelation Therapy has helped a lot of people and if LifeWorks’ physician feels you would benefit from it, you may be one of the many Clearwater residents who have found improved health and vigor.
