What is Chelation Therapy?

Chelation therapy is an IV therapy that allows us to effectively remove harmful substances from the body.

The word “Chelation” comes from the Greek word “chele” which means a claw of a crab or lobster and implies a strong, pincher-like grasping.

In the case of chelation therapy, the grasping is done by a chelating agent and the object grasped is a metal atom.

What is Chelation Therapy Used For?

At our chelation therapy clinic in Clearwater, it is used as the primary treatment of heavy metal poisoning by lead, cadmium, aluminum, mercury, arsenic, and even iron.

These substances are pervasive in our environment and they tend to accumulate in the body over time.

Chelation therapy has also been effective at improving circulation, reducing toxic chemical reactions in the body, reducing pain, and helping people recover from chronic inflammatory diseases.

Many underlying health conditions can be caused by the build-up of these toxic substances in the body, which can trigger the onset of many common diseases, such as:

Patient Testimonials after Chelation Therapy

How Does Chelation Work?

What Happens During Chelation?

Patients undergo a full medical evaluation and screening blood tests before receiving chelation therapy. If approved, chelation therapy involves intravenous infusion of EDTA along with vitamin C, B complex, magnesium, and specific homeopathics to improve health. Each treatment takes 30-40 minutes. Typically, the physician recommends treatments 2-3 times per week for a total of 10 sessions, followed by a re-evaluation.

Removal of Heavy Metals

Heavy metals like Lead, Mercury, and Aluminum accumulate in human tissue, disrupting biochemical processes and potentially causing diseases like Alzheimer’s. Chelation therapy removes these toxic metals, normalizing biochemical activity, improving circulation, and increasing energy. It also redistributes essential metals such as iron and zinc, enhancing enzyme activity at the cellular level.

Removal of Calcium Deposits in Blood Vessels

Calcium deposits are removed from vessels and intracellular membranes leading to increased blood flow, less sticky platelets, and better functioning of the enzyme systems embedded in those membranes.  The result is, improved organ function, reduction in clotting, reduction in the thromboses, better vitality and energy levels.

Clearing Free Radicals

E.D.T.A. binds trace elements like iron, which are known initiators of “free radical reactions”.

These free radical reactions are thought to be the chemical origin of arteriosclerosis, cancer and inflammations, a factor of aging and its concomitant degenerative processes.

Chelation Benefits

You can look forward to improved health and vigor from receiving chelation therapy. Chelation therapy is often used in conjunction with EECP therapy to improve heart health.

Removal of heavy metals and other toxic substances, as well as improving  circulation often results in patients reporting:

  • blood pressure improvements
  • circulation improvements
  • greatly increased energy
  • improved clarity of thinking
  • better exercise tolerance
  • reduction of heavy metal toxicity
